Recycle Your Old Electronics

Recycle Your Old Electronics

Beginning on January 1, 2011, manufacturers of televisions and computers will be responsible to pay for the recycling of their products. This law will apply to personal computers including desktops and laptops, computer monitors and televisions. In accordance with these regulations, these items will no longer be permitted to be disposed of with regular household trash.

Keeping bulky electronic equipment out of the waste stream keeps heavy metals and other hazards out of the environment, saves space and saves money. Bridgewater is fortunate to have the means to recycle all of its consumer electronics from cell phones and computers to wide screen televisions. On the first Saturday of each month, residents can drop off all used household electronics and fluorescent bulbs at the Somerset County Recycling Center. Please see the following links to determine what is the most convenient option for you.
