MINUTES OF THE BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP COUNCIL

JUNE 9, 2008 -  MUNICIPAL BUILDING CONFERENCE ROOM

The Township Council of the Township of Bridgewater, County of Somerset, State of New Jersey, convened in a special session on Monday, June 9, 2008, at 7 p.m. in the Conference Room located in the Municipal Building, Bridgewater, New Jersey.

Council President Norgalis read the following announcement:

In compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act of New Jersey, adequate notice of this meeting was provided on June 5, 2008, by sending written and electronic notice to the Courier News and The Reporter; posting on the Township website and posting on the bulletin board in the Municipal Building and filing with the Township Clerk.

On call of the roll the following Council members were present:

Robert E. Albano

Michael P. Hsing               (absent)

Matthew C. Moench            (absent)

Patrick Scaglione

Howard V. Norgalis

Also Present:                    James T. Naples, Township Administrator

Robert Bogart, Township Engineer

Linda J. Doyle, Township Clerk

Council President Norgalis led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TOWNSHIP OF BRIDGEWATER AND BRIDGEWATER BASEBALL, INC.

On motion of Councilman Albano, seconded by Councilman Scaglione, the resolution authorizing the execution of an agreement between the Township of Bridgewater and Bridgewater Baseball, Inc was removed from the table.  All were in favor.

Installation of Lights at Prince Rogers Baseball Field #5

Council President Norgalis thanked Mr. Naples for providing additional information that included specifics for the type and character of the lighting being installed at Prince Rogers Baseball Field #5.

Mr. Bogart introduced Dominick Gonella and Thomas Fair of Bridgewater Baseball, Inc.  Mr. Gonella explained the baseball games are generally over no later than 10 pm.  He added the Manager’s of each team are instructed to turn the lights off following the game and the parking lot being cleared.  Mr. Gonella added the lights are also controlled by timers that automatically shut off at 11 p.m. 

On motion of Councilman Albano, second by Councilman Scaglione, the foregoing resolution was approved.  The vote was as follows:

On motion of Councilman Albano, seconded by Councilman Scaglione, the meeting was opened to the public.

No one wished to speak.

On motion of Councilman Albano, seconded by Councilman Scaglione, the meeting was closed for public comment.

On motion of Councilman Albano, second of Councilman Scaglione, the meeting was adjourned at 7:05 pm.
