A Message From The Bridgewater Township Council

The major issues are:

  • Land Use - Control the pattern of Bridgewater's growth, protect the character of our diverse neighborhoods, expand parks and open space, reduce traffic congestion, flooding and other environmental hazards and ensure that net assessed valuation grows at a faster rate than the cost of providing services.

  • People - Increase opportunities for the community to work together (governmental, neighborhood, organizations, volunteer and social groups), examine the "life style community" concept - a community with a diverse set of housing and employment opportunities that allow people to live in Bridgewater from childhood through retirement and address a variety of issues affecting "at risk" residents (child and youth development, support for persons age 65 and over, substance abuse, family abuse and other violence).

  • Economic - Expand and support a diverse business community, attract businesses which increase assessed value and make minimum demands on public services.

Council meetings are held at 7:30 PM on the first and third Mondays of each month. Work sessions are held at 7:30 PM on the preceding Thursdays. We invite your attendance. Your Council encourages all residents to share their concerns, opinions and suggestions with their elected officials and volunteer their time and talents by participating on Boards and Committees.
